The State of Nagaland was awarded the “Best Eri Silk Producing State” in India at the Ministry of Textiles’ Mega Silk Event held under the theme “Surging Silk” at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on February 9. The award was given by Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj. Sharing the news on the micro-blogging site Twitter on Sunday, the State Chief Minister Neiphu Rio said that the award ‘recognises Nagaland's contribution to the overall development of Sericulture and silk industry in india. (Morung Photo)The departmental staff picnic of the Directorate of Printing & Stationery, Nagaland Kohima was held on February 9 at the Pony Farm, Kigwema with staffs both from Establishment Branch and Technical Sections. Addressing the staff, Director, Wati L Imchen acknowledged their tireless efforts, stating that it has been one of the backbones of the State Government for many years. Imchen also urged the state government to pay special attention to the department by providing modern machine equipments so as to provide better quality and services to the Government. The event included lottery draw, special numbers and dances by several members. Around 250 staffs were part of the picnic.
