Nagaland: Nine shops gutted in Mokokchung

Nine shops including seven pork stalls, a general store and a dry fish stall were completely razed down in a fire accident here this evening at Alongmen Ward, Mokokchung when a fire broke out at around 6:30 pm.

Two fire engines from the Mokokchung fire station were pressed into action that helped contain the fire.

According to preliminary reports, property worth around rupees 7 lakhs was estimated to have been lost in the fire.

The firefighters managed to salvage some properties including two LPG cylinders.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
