Propagate importance of Hindi language: Er Kropol Vitsu

The All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union (ANHTU) today observed 30th state level Hindi Divas 2023 at Ura Academy Hall, Kohima.

Speaking on the occasion as the special guest, Er Kropol Vitsu, Advisor, Prison, Printing and Stationery, Government of Nagaland urged upon the Hindi teachers to be more sincere and dedicated and continue to propagate the importance of Hindi language in the state.

Hindi is an official language of India, he said and stressed on the need to take up Hindi as an important subject.

Stating that Hindi has come very effective, he stressed on the need to start learning Hindi for healthy communication with the mainland India.

We ought to know Hindi to converse well with the mainland India, for official works, study and business activities, Er Vitsu said.

He said that Hindi is one of the oldest languages and has become a very powerful and inalienable factor in day to day lives and encouraged the gathering to embrace and learn Hindi language.

Er Vitsu also urged upon the people to expand their education knowledge and skills beyond the comfort zone as most of the Nagas are not interested in learning other languages, especially Hindi and remarked that trying not to learn Hindi will be a big loss since it is becoming a very powerful language internationally.

Delivering a short speech, Ruchunlo Tep, JEO (Hindi) Directorate of School Education Kohima called upon the teachers to be serious in realizing their priority in their profession as a teacher.

‘Celebration of India's rich cultural tapestry’
ANHTU President Kekhrieneilie Tsikano said that Hindi Diwas is celebrated annually on September 14 and marks the day when the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Hindi language as an official language on September 14, 1949. The decision to use Hindi as an official language was taken under the Constitution of India. This came into effect on 26 January 1950.

“When we celebrate Hindi Divas, let's remember that this day isn't just a celebration of the language. It is a celebration of India's rich cultural tapestry, linguistic diversity, and the bridge that Hindi provides between the past and the present. It's a day to cherish the timeless wisdom contained in ancient texts, the vibrancy of contemporary Hindi literature and the global reach of this beautiful language,” Tsikano said.

Earlier, Vizothal Zhotso, President, ANHTU Kohima Unit delivered welcome address.

The celebration witnessed special number from AGC, GMS L Khel, Kohima village, GMS Chedema and GMS Kohima Orphanage Home.

ANHTU Joint Secretary, S Vilou Krocha presented the report of the Union.

Khonbemo Ngullie, Pastor, Kohima Lotha AG Church invoked God’s blessings while vote of thanks was proposed by ANHTU Kohima unit Vice President Kiyakhrielie Miario.

The celebration was compered by Kenei Sekhose and Lozhoho Khanyo and hosted by ANHTU Kohima Unit.
