Nagaland observes Counsellors’ Day

Kohima, November 27 (MExN): All Nagaland Counsellors’ Association organised Counsellors’ Day in St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama on November 27.  

The Counselling students of the College presented a special song and the prayer dance was performed by the students of the College.Fr. Dr. S. Ousepparampil, Principle of the College presided over the function as chief guest and Fr. Dr. Joy Thomas, SVD in his Keynote Address said that a counsellor is a person who is psychologically mature. In other words, the degree to which one can create relationship to facilitate growth in other is the measure of the growth one has achieved in oneself. He further said that in some respects this is a disturbing thought but it is also a promising and challenging one.  

The speakers Dr. Viketoulie Pienyii who is the Senior Medical Officer from State Mental Health Institute, Kohima and Fr. Dr. Boniface D’ Souza, SJ Director HRD centre, St. Paul Institute, Phesama spoke on Stress Management and On Becoming a Counsellor.  

With the student’s interaction on the speakers’ topics, the Students of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama honoured the Counsellors.
