Hope Channel in collaboration with Breeze Women Welfare Association and SBI Regional Office, Dimapur today celebrated the International Day of Charity at Indisen village, Dimapur. Held at a quaint little room, the event was attended by philanthropists and NGOs from different walks of life in Dimapur. The day which celebrates the significance of charity givers is being observed for the first time in Nagaland.
Philanthropist Narola Lipok who was the guest of honour for the evening expressed her delight to be witnessing many young people who have a heart for the helpless, the abused and the underprivileged in the society. Stating that being a philanthropist is not easy, Lipok cleared the general misconception that such organisations are only run by central schemes. “Every day is not Sunday, until and unless you're willing to work hard it's not possible,” she stated.
Lipok regretted that there are some people “who are so rich, powerful people, but they do not understand what charity is.” She called upon the young people to be brave, that if you do not give in with the hardships, the shame and the toil that one has to go through, “your hard work will be seen in your children. Your hard work is seen by God and you will reap its reward one day.”
The ones you have helped will never forget your good works. “And when one day, you arrive at a stage where I am right now, you will look back at the good old days with a sense of joy and gratitude,” she added. Further commending them for their selfless dedication, Lipok said that the certificates they are receiving today is just the beginning. “Your real certificates are being prepared in Heaven," she said.Certificates of appreciation were awarded to different NGOs for their selfless dedication and philanthropic work - Women Police Station Dimapur, Child Helpline Dimapur, Sakhi One Stop Centre Dimapur, Helping Hands, Miqlat Ministry, Silas Care Centre, Sisterhood Network, Act of Kindness Society, Tibetan Bhutia Buddhist Welfare Dimapur, Dimapur Bongs, Can Youth, Prodigal's Home, Rev Longsa Orphanage Home, TOAHDCC, Ebenezer Orphanage Home, Vivekananda Welfare Foundation, Rotary Club Dimapur, Lion's Club Dimapur and Muslim Youths from Dimapur.
