In another death case related to COVID-19, a 45-year old woman passed away on July 29 in Aoyimti village, Dimapur.

According to sources, the woman had pre-existing health conditions for which she had been on medication and routine checkups. She had also reportedly been ill during the lockdown.

However on Wednesday, the woman had to be taken to a hospital, but was reportedly denied admission without a COVID-19 negative report by multiple hospitals.

She was then taken to the COVID centre in Chümoukedima for the COVID-19 test.

Later, when the TrueNat result arrived, she had reportedly tested positive.

By the time she was contacted to have her admitted in the COVID Hospital in Dimapur, it was learnt that the woman had already passed away.

According to the village authorities, the contact tracing has already been initiated and most of those who came in contact with the deceased have been retained in the Mission Compound which will be sealed as a precautionary measure.

Officials from the health department and the district administration were also reportedly on site to take stock of the situation.

The confirmatory test result of the deceased is yet to be received.

At the time of filing this report, the village authorities and the Aoyimti Youth Forum were reportedly in a meeting to decide on sealing, containment and precautionary measures to be taken up in the aftermath of the incident.
