Nagaland Open Badminton Championship underway

Morung Express News Dimapur | July 11   The 41st Nagaland Inter District & State Open Badminton Championship was started on Tuesday with State DGP L.L. Doungel declaring the championship open at K. Kire IPS Indoor Stadium, Police Complex, Chumukedima.   Ex-Home Minister, Y. Patton was supposed to be the chief guest but could not attend the programme owing to the recent political developments.   Speaking at the programme, Doungel encouraged the players especially youngsters to derive benefits during the championship and also to showcase their talents.   Speech of President, Nagaland Badminton Association, Y. Vikheho Swu, Minister, who also could not attend the programme was read out. Vikheho's speech stated that the objective of NBA is to ensure that every individual, young or old, men or women finds a platform to discover and showcase their talents.   The inaugural programme was attended by a host of Police officers and participants. The championship is being hosted by the Nagaland Police.
