The Mokokchung Town Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship celebrated its silver jubilee on the theme ‘Stronger Together’ (Phil 2: 1-2) at Alempang Baptist Church, Mokokchung on October 7. Mokokchung Town Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship (MTBPF) comprises of twenty three Baptist churches of all tribes and communities within Mokokchung town.
Rev Dr Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) speaking at the celebration urged the fellow pastors not to do anything out of selfish ambition or motives. He said that being selfish would mean he would be someone who always looks to advance his own agendas. He also urged fellow pastors to serve in togetherness and to respect the wisdom and agenda that comes from others.
Earlier, Rev Ponen Longchar, Pastor, Mokokchung Town Baptist Church paid tribute to all departed soul in the beginning of the programme while the welcome address was given by Rev W Supong, President, MTBPF.
A brief exhortation was also given by Rev Luin, Ex-pastor. The release of the jubilee souvenir was initiated by Puryapang, Pastor, Yimyu Baptist Church and was released by Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger. A thanksgiving prayer was pronounced by Rev O Yashi, Pastor, Sungkomen Baptist Church. Altogether 130 delegates attended the silver jubilee celebration.
