DIMAPUR, MAY 29 (MExN): Mokokchung Police, in a series of operations, arrested three persons and recovered illegal contraband and alcohol from their possession.
A press release from the PRO, Mokokchung Police informed that on May 22, one Lipokakum T Ao was arrested in possession of 27 grams of suspected brown sugar. On May 26, a 36 year old woman was arrested during checking of a night bus at the Mokokchung-Tuensang road. She was found in possession of 25.68 grams of suspected brown sugar.
On May 27, the Mokokchung Police recovered 15 cases of IMFL and three cases of canned beer found concealed inside a secret compartment of a truck near Alichen. The driver of the vehicle, Baby Mundi, was arrested.
All three persons were booked under relevant sections of the law, informed the Mokokchung Police.
Meanwhile, on May 26, the CID (Crime Branch) Dimapur apprehended one person from Blue Hill Station, Dimapur in possession of 600 grams of brown sugar. The contraband was wrapped in silver colored foil and one motorbike from the possession of the accused person. The apprehended along with the seized items were handed over to the OC, East Police Station, Dimapur.
