Nagaland Police detects arms & narcotics cases across state

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 11 (MExN): The Nagaland Police today said that it has conducted operations that led to the detection of various cases related to arms, narcotics, and criminal activities across several districts of the State. “During this period, under the Arms Act, three cases were registered in Dimapur, resulting in the arrest of 4 individuals found in possession of firearms in violation of the law. The recovered items included firearms and live rounds,” a press release issued through the DIPR stated. It further informed that 25 cases were registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in districts including Mokokchung, Wokha, Zunheboto, Kiphire, Tuensang, and Mon. Authorities also confiscated quantities of brown sugar, heroin, prescription medications, and cough syrup. 35 individuals were apprehended in connection with these NDPS cases. It was further informed that cases related to extortion, involving the unlawful acquisition of money, have led to arrests and recovery of pertinent evidence.
