Nagaland Police seizes around 840 grams of suspected heroin; 2 held

Kohima, September 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Police personnel of Narcotic Cell PS Mobile Unit on September 7 recovered suspected heroin weighing approximately 840 grams (approx) near Viswema Y-Junction of Kohima-Pfutsero-Imphal, National Highway-2.

The contraband was found concealed inside 70 soap cases during a surprise Mobile Vehicle Check Post, informed a press release from the Superintendent of Police (Crime) & PRO, PHQ Kohima. 

The vehicle was coming from Senapati, Manipur and heading towards Dimapur. 

Accordingly, two occupants of the vehicle -P Ngaopu (M 39yrs) of Katafiimai, Tadubi and Matia (F 34 yrs) of Pahibung Khullen under Tadubi were arrested and the illegal contraband along with the vehicle were seized. 

A case, vide Narcotic Cell Police Station Case No.11/2022 U/S 21(c)/60 NDPS Act, has been registered for further investigation, the release added.
