Nagaland Polls: DC & DEO issues more directives

Villages and Wards informed to maintain Assured Minimum Facility Longleng: The DC & DEO Longleng has issued information directing all the village council chairman and ward president/chairman under 49 A/C and 50 A/C to see that the basic necessity (Assured Minimum Facility) such as ramp facility for people with disability, water supply provision, electrification with plug point, toilet facility and approach road leading to the polling station are to be maintained properly in their respective polling stations of their villages/colony/wards for smooth conduct of election in the district.  

It directed all concern Sector Magistrate to verify and give final report on the matter with immediate effect. Further, the DC & DEO directed to abstain from use of requisition polling station for public meeting, program & events till the election is over.

Facilitation centre for casting Postal Ballot Dimapur: DC & DEO Dimapur has informed all concerned that a facilitation centre for the purpose of casting Postal Ballot shall be opened at Dimapur Government College, near D.C. Court junction, Dimapur from 10:00 am onwards on February 23 for personal requisitioned for polling duty. DC further clarified that this will be the last of such facilitation centre with regard to the aforementioned personnel meant for cast of their postal ballot. In this regard all political parties/contesting candidates have been requested to sent their agent so as to ensure a free, fair and transparent casting of Postal Ballot.  

All police personnel under Dimapur District, polling duty personnel registered as voters in other districts and all government employees under Dimapur District requisitioned for election duty as sector officer, flying squad team members, Static Surveillance team members, Video Surveillance team members, expenditure Monitoring team members, Drivers etc and all government employees detailed for election duty apart from polling personnel who have applied form 12 for issue of Postal ballot to be physically present along with valid identity proof on 24th February 2018 at the postal ballot facilitation centre, Conference Hall of Taxes Commissioner ‘s office Dimapur between 10:00 am to 3:00 pm for receive and casting their postal ballot.  

DC further clarified that all postal ballot for the aforementioned employees will be issued only at the designated location mentioned above and not through any other means and this will be the last of such facilitation centre for the aforementioned personnel for casting of their postal ballot.  

3rd inspection of Shadow Register All intending candidates and their agents that the 3rd inspection of Shadow Register shall be done by Expenditure Observer (for all 5 ACs) at Conference Room, Police Mess, Chumukedima on February 24 from 11:00 am onwards. All the intending candidates have therefore been requested to send their agents at the said venue without fail.  

Ensure smooth counting of votes Tuensang: DC & DEO, Tuensang, L. Jamithung Lotha has in exercise the power conferred by Section 24 of the RP Act, 1951 and to ensure the smooth counting of votes in connection with the General Election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2018 notified of the list of Government officers and staffs appointed as Counting Supervisor/Distributors/Tabulators and dealings. All officers and staffs so appointed shall be deemed to be deputation to the Election Commission of India under Section 28A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and shall accordingly be subjected to superintendents and disciplines of the Commission, stated the order.  

ADC& DEO meets observers PUGHOBOTO: Meeting of all Election Observer with the ADC & DEO, Avelu Ruho, and SDPO, Atu Zumvu under 13-A/C Pughoboto was held at the ADC’s office Chamber on February 21. The meeting deliberated on the law and order situation besides deployment of forces to all the 33 polling stations in 24 villages. It was informed that a total of 6 CAPF companies, 1 CRPF, and 5 BSF, 1 IRB company and 1 coy 8th NAP have been assigned for smooth conduct of the election. Police Observer, Rakesh Gupta, General Observer, Mahesh I Patel, Expenditure Observer, Upinderbir Singh, and others security officers attended the meeting.  

Randomisation of Polling Personal Mokokchung: Deputy Commissioner &DEO, Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS has informed that Randomisation of Polling Personal for all 10 constituencies (21 A/C to 30 A/C) under Mokokchung District has been fixed as follows, 2nd Randomisation on February 21 at 3:00 PM at ADC (Planning) Conference Hall and 3rd Randomisation on February 24 at 3:00 Pm at the Conference Hall of ADC (planning). In this connection, all concerned are requested to attain the above mentioned Randomisation without fail.  

Peren: DC and DEO, Peren has notified that the BLOs are Government servants and any act of obstruction in carrying out their duties specially while distributing photo voters slip in their respective areas, in ANY form, will be dealt strictly as per provisions of the law. The VCCs have been requested to cooperate with the District Administration and ensure that no hindrance is made in this time bound activity of distribution of photo voters slip.
