Nagaland prepares People’s Plan Campaign on GPDP

Kohima, September 16 (MExN): As per the Nagaland State Calendar for the People’s Plan Campaign on Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) & Mission Antyodaya Survey 2020, one-day training for Line Department Nodal Officers was held at RD Conference Hall, Kohima on September 16.

A press release issued by K Neibou Sekhose, State Nodal Officer GPDP stated that Imnukshila Jamir, Director RD, welcomed the officials and highlighted the role of the Nodal Officers during the campaign. She requested the Nodal Officers to extend coordination towards monitoring in the entire process of GPDP by ensuring convergence among inter departmental coordination at all levels and also to provide support to Gram Panchayat Planning and Facilitation Team (GPPFT).

 The resource persons were Renvungo Murry, SPM-MIS, NSRLM, who spoke on Mission Antyodaya, Dr Juthsutho Phoji, Senior Faculty & Nodal Officer for RGSA, SIRD who gave the introduction to people’s Plan Campaign 2020. PRI-SHG Convergence, Village Poverty Reduction Plan was shared by Kenivole Richa, Programme Manager, Social Inclusion & Social Development and Gram Panchayat Development Plan 2021-22 by Vilopi Angami, Rural Development Officer.

Officers from RD, SIRD and NSRLM along with Nodal Officers from the Departments of New & Renewable Energy, PWD (R&B), Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Art & Culture, Social Welfare, Food & Civil Supplies and Water Resources attended the training.

It may be mentioned that Gram Panchayats have been mandated for the preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for economic development and social justice. Here, the planning process requires being comprehensive and based on participatory process involving full convergence with schemes of all related Central Ministries/Line Departments related to 29 subjects listed in the Eleventh Schedule of the Constitution.

The campaign will be rolled out as ‘Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas’ from October 2 to January 31, 2021. During the campaign, structured Gram Sabha meetings will be held for preparing the Village Development Plan for the next financial year i.e. 2021-22. 

Activities for the campaign: 
The following are some of the activities to be taken up during the campaign: strengthening role of about 31 lakh Elected Representatives (ERs) and 5.25 Crore Self-Help Groups (SHGs) women under DAY-NRLM; Evidence Based Assessment of Progress made in 2020-21 and proposals for 2021-22 in all 29 subjects of XI Schedule; Public Information Campaign-Full public disclosure on Schemes, Finances, etc. of all schemes & programmes in Gram Panchayat Office and on Gram Samvaad App; Structured Gram Sabha meetings spread over October 2-January 31,2021, with physical presence and presentation by frontline workers of all 29 Sectors in XI Schedule.
