Kohima, September 20 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland has remitted the whole amount of stamp duty chargeable on all instruments of mortgage relating to crop loans.
According to the State DIPR, a notification to this effect was issued by the Finance Department Nagaland September 9. The remission would come into with effect from the date of publication of the notification in the official Gazette, it said.
The Finance Department issued the same in the exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 9 of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, it added.
