Nagaland: Revised passenger fare and guidelines for Longleng district issued

Longleng, September 9 (MExN): In pursuance of the Government of Nagaland order date 31st August 2020, DC Longleng M Shayung Phom has informed that with regard to the movement of commercial vehicles, after due consultation with all the stakeholders, the following sumo/Taxi fare have been fixed under Longleng District.

Tata sumo service from Longleng to the following destinations with maximum passenger allowed (50% of the total seat): 
• Dimapur- Rs 1500 
• Kohima- Rs 1600 
• Mokokchung- Rs 800 
• Tamlu- Rs 700 

The DC Longleng stated that the rates are subject to revision. Any person/group acting in contravention of this order will be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section-188 of Indian Penal code.

Consolidated guidelines for commercial passenger vehicles: 
• In all passenger sumo/taxi, there should be more than two persons sitting on the middle and rear row seats. In case of rear seats being along the length of the vehicle, not more than one person should sit on each of the rear seat. In the front row seat, there should be only one passenger.
• In all the passenger vehicles both the driver, attendant and the passenger should wear mask. Further, the driver/attendant should make mandatory provision for hand sanitizers for use by the passenger. Only passenger wearing mask must be allowed to travel. The commercial vehicles moving for long distances should be mandatorily cleaned and disinfected before the start of every fresh journey with new passengers. Those moving for short distances will also be disinfected regularly by the drivers/attendants.
• The rate chart annexed with this order for commercial passenger vehicles shall be strictly enforced.

Guidelines for trucks/goods transport vehicles.
• All crew members shall be screened for fever by thermal scan at the point of entry.
• No passengers shall be allowed to travel in any of the goods trucks.
• Crew member(s) with symptoms-fever, cough and breathlessness will be subjected to further medical examination.
• All crew members shall mandatorily wear face mask at all times and wash hands frequently with soap and water or hand sanitizers.
• Dhabas and amenity providers at designated places identified by the District administration for trucks/travelers shall provide adequate dining space to ensure minimal contact, social distancing, foot-operated hand washing facilities as well as clean & hygienic toilets/washrooms.
• All crew members shall remain inside the vehicle and shall not mingle with anyone during loading and unloading of consignment.
• On completion of the loading and unloading of the consignment, the truck shall be required to proceed towards its destination immediately. Local transporters requiring to stay back must remain in home isolation and observe safety measures.
• District task force will facilitate availability of adequate hand washing facilities at all check points.
