Kohima, February 4 (MExN): Nagaland team from Department of School Education, Samagra Shiksha, NBSE, SCERT, DIET, Directorate of School Education along with officials from the Dream a Dream organisation conducted study on implementation of Happiness Curriculum in Delhi Government schools and other transformative initiatives from February 1 to 3.
A press rerelease issued by Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland stated that the School Education team was deputed with the objective to understand the implementation of Happiness Curriculum and transformative initiatives in Delhi Government schools and submit report with recommendations. During this study period, the State team visited six Delhi Government schools including Delhi School of Specialized Excellence and interacted with the students, teachers and school principals to understand different activities conducted in the school.
The team also interacted with the Director of School Education Delhi Himansha Gupta, IAS and Additional Director Nandini Maharaj, IAS along with others officials of the Department.
During the interaction, the school heads and teachers informed the State team that Delhi government schools witnessed increase in students’ application in the government schools for enrolment in the recent years. Under the curricular reforms, the Delhi Government is implementing Happiness Curriculum, Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum and Desh Bhakti Curriculum in the government schools.
The state team was led by Dr Kevizakie Rio, Joint Mission Director, Dr Bijano Murry, Joint Mission Director, Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director Samagra Shiksha, Nellayapan B, Deputy Director, School Education, Pipi Gloria Chishi, Principal GHSS, IsiteulIe Zeliang, Principal GHSS, Veketulu Veyie, Sr Lecturer SCERT, Kenilo Semp, Sr Lecturer DIET and Zalio Seyie, Asst. Academic Officer NBSE.

Meanwhile another team of 25 persons including state officials from Samagra Shiksha, school heads, teacher escorts and 18 students from Government schools led by Dr Chumbeni Kikon, Joint Mission Director Samagra Shiksha visited Madya Pradesh from January 30 to February 2 as part of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat programme.
A report received from Dr Chumbeni Kikon stated that during the visit, the Nagaland team visited Government schools, participated in cultural programme organized by the Department of School Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh and presented folk songs and other cultural presentations. The team also interacted with the Commissioner of School Education, Abhay Verma, IAS and Manisha Sentiya, IAS Project Director along with other department officials.
Nagaland State is paired with the State of Manipur and Madhya Pradesh under the programme to celebrate Unity and Diversity of India. Under this programme students exchange programme is conducted by visiting the paired States to learn about the culture, tradition and language of the states.
