
Dimapur, February 25 (MExN): With the state going to polls on February 27, Nagaland has sealed its border with Assam on Saturday “to prevent undesirable elements and materials being transported into Assembly Constituency from outside and to apprehend them if they attempt to do so.”
A press note from the Dimapur Deputy Commissioner of Police & PRO stated that the border would remain sealed till February 27. It directed the DCPs of Dimapur, Niuland, and Chümoukedima districts to seal all check posts and disallow any thoroughfare. “Intensify patrolling along the border and apprehend anyone attempting to crossover,” it said while directing them to coordinate with Districts Authorities of bordering states to ensure proper sealing of border as well as movement of essential commodities or emergency services into the State.
