Kohima, September 29 (MExN): The Department of Soil & Water Conservation has announced the release of latest booklet titled ‘Soil and Weather’, which delves into the vital role of soil testing in modern agriculture and sustainability, offering valuable insights and methods for soil testing. 

The book also explores the correct methods and waysof soil collection as sampling may be the greatest source of error in the whole programme, a press release received here stated.

SK Hekshe, Director, Soil & Water Conservation in his speech, underscores the significance of soil testing in the context of sustainable agriculture and demystifies the complexities of soil analysis, making it accessible to professionals, researchers and enthusiast alike. He further emphasised that by incorporating weather data into soil analysis will help optimize resource use and adapt farming practices to changing climate conditions. 

‘Soil and Weather’ will be now available at the office of Soil & Water Conservation, Directorate and respective District Soil Conservation Office. Interested persons can also avail the book from the Department website snwc.nagaland.gov.in.
