Kohima, April 23 (MExN): The Department of Economics and Statistics, Nagaland has conducted a One-Day State Level Training programme on NSS 80th Round “ Household Social Consumption on Health” on April 23 at DES Conference Hall, Kohima.
NSS 80th round is a survey on household consumption on health with an objective to generate basic quantitative information on the health sector. The survey will cover some important aspects of health sector such as pre-natal and post-natal care, assessment of the population affected by some widespread communicable diseases, immunization of children aged between 0-5, and condition of 60-plus population: their state of health, economic independence and degree of isolation.
Neidilhou Keditsu, Director, highlighted the overview of the survey and use of Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) module of data collection which is to be used for the first time in the State.
He urged the enumerators to collect data from the actual source to garner quality and reliable data for proper policy planning in the health sector.
Akunu S Meyase, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Economics and Statistics in her speech stressed on the importance of quality statistical data which are used by various agencies for action plans.
She encouraged the enumerators to put their best efforts in collecting the data and urged the participants to master the CAPI module of survey and to take active part in the survey.
Technical sessions were taken up by Athuo Kaihru, SSO, NSO, Kohima, Raj Kumar Mallik, Survey Supervisor, NSO, Kohima, Kiutan Simon, ESO and Ngabu Tep, Sr.IOS.
The programme was chaired by Mhabemo Ovung, ESO while Neisatuo Puro, Additional Director, delivered the closing remark.
