DIMAPUR, JULY 13 (MExN): The Nagaland State Vigilance Commissioner, KT Sukhalu today clarified on the investigation into the MKR Pillai case and stated that the commission has no authority to give clearance for any “presidential commendation or any other police awards.” Speaking to The Morung Express, he said the commission can only give clearance for service promotions and foreign travels. Regarding the investigation into the nature of Pillai’s appointment as consultant to the Nagaland Police Department, the Vigilance Commissioner said: “We are waiting for details from the Home Department. So far Home Department has not given any details.” He further reminded that the Vigilance Commission can only investigate a case and submit their report to the government. It is up to the government to take action, he added.
