Nagaland team attend Fisheries Summer Meet

Dimapur, July 11 (MExN): Advisor, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, A Pangjung Jamir along with officials from the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Nagaland including Joint Director, Neithi O- Kuotso and Deputy Director, Dr Rongsen Kumzuk attended the Fisheries Summer Meet-2023 to celebrate National Fish Farmers Day on July 10 and 11 at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu.

The programme was attended by ministers and officials from various States and Union Territories, stated a DIPR report. During the programme, keynote address was delivered by Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, GoI, Parshottam Rupala and speeches were also presented by Union Minister of State, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Dr L Murugan and Dr Sanjeev Balyan.

The Union Minister virtually inaugurated 176 fisheries projects under Pradhan Mantri Matsaya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), out of which, four projects were also inaugurated from Nagaland, namely: Brood Bank at Nathanglu, Mokokchung District; Live Fish Vending Centre at Kohima District and two bio-floc units at Tenyiphe, Chümoukedima District and Nihoto, Niuland district.
