In a notable achievement, schools in Nagaland recorded the highest pass percentage in the CBSE 2025 Class 10 and 12 board exam results among all states under the Gauhati region.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results for both classes on Tuesday.
According to the state-wise pass percentage provided by the Board, besides topping the region, schools from Nagaland also performed strongly at the national level—securing 10th position in Class 10 and 9th in Class 12 in terms of pass percentage.
A total of 39 schools from Nagaland appeared for the secondary exams (Class 10) at 18 exam centres, while 19 schools appeared for the senior secondary exams (Class 12) at 12 centres across the State.

The CBSE has announced that it will not release a merit list in order to “avoid unhealthy competition.” It has also discontinued the practice of awarding first, second, and third divisions based on scores.
"According to the earlier decision of the Board to avoid unhealthy competition among students, the CBSE has not published the merit list. However, the Board will issue merit certificates to the top 0.1% of students who have scored the highest marks in various subjects," the report added, quoting Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj.
More than 1.41 lakh candidates have been placed in the supplementary category for Class 10, while the figure for Class 12 exceeds 1.29 lakh. The numbers have risen slightly for both classes. The supplementary exams for Classes 10 and 12 will be held in July.
