Annpurna Devi, Union Minister of State, Ministry of Education today visited Tseminyu district and interacted with the civil society organizations and head of departments.
On representation submitted by Rengma Hoho for establishment of Navodaya Vidyalaya and Industrial Training Institute at Tseminyu, Devi asked the school education department to put forward the proposal for establishment of Navodaya Vidyalaya.
Also present in the interaction session, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor, Schools Education & SCERT Nagaland brought notice to the Union Minister of State about the opposition from various organizations regarding the recent announcement made by the Ministry of Education to introduce the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR), commonly referred to as the 'One Nation, One Student ID.'

Dr Yhome also stressed on the need to intensify tap water connection to government schools under Har Ghar Jal Yojana through convergence programme. Dr Yhome informed that Nagaland will be introducing School Children Health Card from next year.
MLA Jwenga Seb said that the presence of Union Minister of State signifies the government’s unwavering commitment to the development of Tseminyu district.
“With your esteemed guidance and support, we are confident that we can transform our district into a model of educational excellence and sustainable development.”
Seb told the Union Minister of State that “In Tseminyu district, we recognize the potential of our youth and their thirst for knowledge. However, we also acknowledge the existing gaps that need to be addressed in order to provide them with an enabling learning environment.”
We are committed to bridging these gaps and ensuring that every child in our district has access to quality education by strengthening the hands of the department of school education under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and with the support of the Ministry of Education, he added. Seb also handed over a copy of Vision Document on Tseminyu District Green Initiatives to Devi.
The department school education, agriculture, food & civil supplies, social welfare, PHED, Road & bridges, health and family welfare made a PowerPoint presentation on the status of the various centrally sponsored schemes and flagship programmes in Tseminyu district.
Kevileno Angami, Commissioner & Secretary School Education, SCERT, Temsunaro Aier, State Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha and Thavaseelan A, Principal Director, School Education also present during the interaction session. Tseminyu Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Singh proposed vote of thanks.
Later, Devi interacted with the students of Government High School, Kandinu. She served mid-day meal to the school children there. She also visited Primary Health Centre at Chunlikha.
