Lumami, November 6 (MExN): The Vigilance Awareness Week as directed by the Central Vigilance Commission, GoI was observed in Nagaland University from October 31 to November 5. This period marked emphasis on importance of vigilance as citizens and organisation, along with formal program, some awareness activities like online quiz etc and pledge taking ceremony for the employees of the University. The directions also provisioned for e-pledge for the employees from the website, stated a press release. 

The event constituted a short briefing by VC Prof JK Patnaik, who as the chief guest spoke on the vigilance relating to the appositeness, relevance from law perspective and its benefits in relation to the University. He emphasised the need to constantly be committed with honesty and integrity for growth and development of the University. 

The Finance Officer, Albert Khizo explained elementary aspect of Vigilance giving awareness about the relevance and practical side of the Vigilance in the organisations. 

The resource person from academics was Prof Dasarathi Bhuyian, Political Science department who took a short lecture on Anti-corruption topic and deliberated upon with concepts and opinion which were quite informative.

The Pledge was administered by the Registrar, Dr Abemo with officials and staff of the University. The programme was chaired by Priyanka Sengar, IAO, NU and formally welcomed by Angunuo Kheiya, DR Finance/DDO while the it was concluded by Vote of thanks given by Kahoshe Sumi, DR Finance/GAD.

The programme was attended by faculty members, administrative staff and students.
