Nagaland University vows to uphold integrity

Lumami, October 26 (MExN): The Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 kicked off at the Nagaland University, Headquarters, Lumami on October 26 with the undertaking of Integrity Pledge, among others, led by Dr Maongsangba, Controller of Examinations.

Delivering a lecture on “Independent India @ 75: Self Reliance with Integrity,” Prof T Zarenthung Ezung, Head of the Economics Department, shared various policies of the country since independence in an attempt to achieve the same marking marking Dandi March, under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, as the starting point of India’s struggle for self reliance.

Asserting that the overall growth of the country could be seen in the increase of the GDP and Per Capita Income, he said these were made possible due to able leadership, both past and present, as well as due to the dedicated contributions made by all sections of society.

India is striving to become a developed country, and that it is our bounden duty to work with dedication and integrity to achieve this goal, Prof  Ezung said.  

In his speech, Dr Abemo, NU Registrar and the Chief Guest of the inaugural function stressed that the Central Vigilance Commission is asking each one of us to collectively fight and prevent corruption.

Stating that corruption has many forms, he noted that not discharging one’s assigned duties is as good as corruption, a press release from the NU PRO Peter Ki stated. 

The programme was attended by faculty members, administrative staff, and students.
