Nagaland: ‘Wisteria’ new café in Dimapur opens

Dimapur, April 6 (MExN): Realising the fact that Nagaland has the highest unemployment rate in the country, a young Naga unemployed youth, Torie Merry, has taken the decision to embark on private business by running a cafe by the name of ‘Wisteria.’ Torie has completed her B.Sc (Hons) and B.Ed. 

District Public Relations officer Dimapur, Lolano Patton formally graced the inaugural ceremony as the special guest on April 6, stated a DIPR report. Dwelling on the unemployment problem particular in Nagaland, Patton said that unemployment issue has reached saturation point with 92,302 registered unemployed youth as per January 2022 record. 

She noted that the figure keeps on increasing, as many educated Naga youths prefers white collared jobs instead of opting for private business for earning their livelihood. Towards this, she congratulated Torie Merry for taking a wise decision of standing on her own feet and also for contributing towards the society by employing workers in her cafe.

DPRO also applauded the family members of Torie for encouraging and approving her decision instead of pressuring her to go for government jobs.

Associate Pastor, Dimapur Lotha Baptist church offered the dedicatory prayer. Family members of the proprietor, friends and well wishers attended the inaugural ceremony.
