Dimapur, January 31 (MExN): The two-day workshop on safe handling, care and rehabilitation of wildlife was conducted at Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP), Rangapahar with resource persons from Wildlife Conservation Society India (WCS-India) on January 30 and 31.
NZP Director Dr C Zupeni Tsanglai, in a press release, stated that the WCS representatives were Anirbhan Chaudhuri, Rishik Dutta Gupta, Vikram hoshing, Trishanti Paul and Gargi Sharma.
The workshop was divided into three classroom sessions wherein the participants were given in-depth knowledge about the basics of handling wildlife, their care and rehabilitation with power point presentations. In the afternoon sessions there were field exposures to animal enclosures wherein the participants were given hands-on experience.
The participants were the animal keepers of NZP, staffs from Crime Branch of Wildlife Dimapur and Dimapur Division, it stated.
The workshop concluded with a valedictory note by the director and distribution of certificates.
