Nagaland’s Hiti Seb only player to make it to NEUFC reserve team

Out of the 3000-odd participants in the month-long North East United FC (NEUFC) trials that were held recently, Hiti Seb from Nagaland emerged as the only player to make it to the NEUFC’s reserve team.

Born in 2005, Seb is a striker from Nagaland who has made it to the NEUFC’s reserve team after the final trials in Guwahati.

Scouted talents from the Northeast gathered at the SAI football ground in Guwahati for the final trials, which was overseen by The NEUFC’s new Head of Youth Development and Head Coach of the Under-17 team, Suhel Nair. 

The list of selected players, notified by NEUFC CEO Mandar Tamhane, included the names of players for the U-17 team, reserve team and probables. The players who made it to the U-17 team were mostly from Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Apart from Hiti Seb, another player from Nagaland, Bokato Awomi is in the list of probables for the reserve team as well. As per a notification from the NEUFC, probable players will be called again for another round of trials in the first week of July.

The trials were held for players born between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2009, for the U-17 team, and those born between January 1, 2004, and December 31, 2007, for the reserve team.
