Dimapur, January 14 (MExN): Nagaland’s Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio today said that we will find peace when we live a true believer’s life based on Christian values and ethics which can be studied from the Holy Bible.
Giving a brief exhortation at the 3rd Convention of the Nagamese Christian Revival Churches Sub-Council on Sunday, January 14 at Dimapur, the MP stated that the worldwide Christian population was about 33% whilst in India it was about 2.5% of the country’s population.
However, Rio said that the Bible was the only book that could transcend all boundaries. Citing statistical data from the Wycliffe Global Alliance, the MP stated that as of October 1, 2017, the complete Bible has been translated into 670 languages while the New Testament has been translated into as many as 1521 languages.
Averring that translating the Bible’s New Testament into Nagamese was by no means an easy task, Rio congratulated the Nagamese CRC for tirelessly working towards this end so that the Word of God can reach farther out to all the Nagas particularly in far flung areas and also in Myanmar.
Giving thanks to Almighty God for the achievement, Rio reaffirmed that much needs to be done to spread God’s word, irrespective of denomination, since we all worship the same one and only living God. He expressed hope that all Churches and denominations will help one another in this regard.
Earlier, the Church leaders of the Nagamese CRC prayed over the new Nagamese Bible (New Testament) after which the same was released by Rev. Dr. Neivotso Neikha, Mission Director, North East CRC. A copy was also presented to the MP as a token of love and appreciation for his support towards the endeavour.
The main message was delivered by Rev. Dr. Neikeduozo Paphino, President NCRC who deliberated on the true meaning of studying God's Word.
