Nagas Disheartened: SKK serves demands to “NSCN/GPRN”

Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): Rattled by yesterday’s “mistaken identity” shooting that left two Sumi student leaders critically injured, a shaken All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has asked the “NSCN/GPRN” to hand over the gunmen responsible, over to the district administration. The SKK today demanded that the culprits must be handed over to the district authorities on or before 5:00PM, May 5. The organization served a warning that the students’ apex will be left with no option but take further course of action as it deems fit. 

The apex Sumi students’ organization today addressed a terse representation to the “NSCN/GPRN” kilo kilonser following yesterday’s incident in the heart of Dimapur. The Speaker of the SKK, Benito Chishi, and the advisor of the Kiphire Sumi Students’ Union Atoka Chophy were shot by gunmen. The “NSCN/GPRN” later owned responsibility for the incident calling it a case of ‘mistaken identity’.

The SKK demanded that the perpetrators of yesterday’s shooting must be handed over to the district administration on or before 5:00PM, the 5th of May. The perpetrators must also be discharged from the outfit, the SKK said in its representation. The “NSCN/GPRN” is further demanded necessary action against the functionary in concern ‘under whose command the incident had happened’. The action taken should be publicized, the SKK said. 

Failing in these, the SKK cautioned, the students’ organization shall be left with no option but to initiative a further course of action as it deemed fit. The SKK anticipates ‘positive response’ from the “NSCN/GPRN”, it added. The SKK met in an emergency meeting on May 3 at the office of the Western Sumi Students’ Union where the said demands were decided upon.
