President, United Naga Democratic Party
The present political situation in Nagaland has lost all its moral principles towards its people. Every morning in the local daily newspaper, we read about nothing but corruption, misused of government development funds, backdoor appointments etc.
Our forefathers who did not have any educational qualifications stick to the motto of truth and work honestly for the welfare of its people without any bias and whereas when we look at our present political leaders the situation is just the opposite. The present elected responsible political leaders who are chosen by the people to represent on their behalf ignores even to address their basic grievances. Now, the question to the people of the Nagas in general is that, “Is the present elected political leaders is really the leaders that the people of the Nagas wish for?” It is crystal clear that all the departments within Nagaland are very much infected by the deathly diseased called “Corruption”.
All departments including the political heads give no attention to the cry and voice of its people. Memorandum after memorandum is been signed between government and social organisations/NGO, but just in vain and no justice is been done. The Central Government of India sanctions thousand of cores through consolidate funds and other financial assistance for the sole purpose of development of Nagaland but, all those funds are been diverted by the political leaders who joined their hands with departments into their pockets and also to many other projects which is never even heard of.
The UNDP regional party really appreciate those organisations especially the ACAUT, fighting legally for the right cause of the Naga public and most importantly against corruption and unearthing all those ugly hidden corrupt works of Naga political leaders and of all the departments.
It is the responsible of all the concern public along with those social educated organisations to move together against the corrupt present political government, departments and bring them to justice. In the forthcoming Assembly election (2018) the general Naga public first has to understand their rights and needs in order to achieve the developments, enjoy the facilities and other basic primary needs that are meant for the people.
The UNDP strongly believe that the people of the Nagas have made a decision to fight against all corruption and not to elect those corrupt candidates in the coming clean election campaign with NBCC (Nagaland Baptist Churches Council) in collaboration.
