Congratulating the team for their performance despite obstacles and shortcomings, Jacob Zhimomi assured them of necessary support in the near future by coordinating with the concerned departments and authorities. Stating that Nagas are “naturally born fighters”, the minister said the fighting, martial arts and kickboxing disciplines need to be further explored as they could provide avenues of employment and income for Naga youth.

The medal winners are: Mongsen Lkr — Gold Medal (bout against Egypt), Temsunungsang — Silver Medal (against Iraq), Kulungshi Newmai — Silver Medal (against Maharashtra), Rokato Zhimo — Bronze Medal (against Kazakhstan), and Riaj — Fourth rank (against Kazakhstan)
