NASA 60th games meet concludes

A three day long 60th games meet of Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) concluded today at Chiephobozou town under Kohima district.
Hosted by Chiephobozou Town Youth Organization, 29 villages from four groups of NASA participated in the meet.


Gracing the closing ceremony as valedictory guest, Neibalie Rio special officer to the Chief Minister Nagaland said that hard work is the key to success.


“Even if you have talent, unless you work hard you will lose your talent,” he said and called upon the youth to work hard to excel in the field of games and sports.


In an exciting football finals played today, NASA-C downed NASA- B 2-1 to emerge the coveted champion title.


Kekhriesetuo Khro netted the first goal for NASA-C while the equalizer goal for NASA-B came through the boot of Neihezo Medom.


The winning goal for NASA-C came through Ruokuovolie Phewhuo.


With this, NASA-C received a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 sponsored by NASA games secretary Khrievolie Lhoungu.


Runner-up NASA- B got a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 sponsored by NASA wrestling secretary Zhakholie Metha.


In women’s volleyball, NASA-C emerged the champion title and received a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 sponsored by NASA president Lhoubeizo Mere Kesiyie.


Runner- up NASA-B pocketed a cash prize of Rs.10,000 sponsored by NASA athletics secretary Dziesesakuo Rutsa and NASA property secretary Ketholetuo Angami.


NASA-C lifted the champion trophy of Men’s volleyball and pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 sponsored by NASA treasurer Kevipusa Kezieo.


NASA-D stood runner-up and received Rs. 10,000 sponsored by NASA general secretary Kelhouneisa Khezhie and NASA vice president Thepfusetuo Terhase.


NASA president Lhoubeizo Mere Kesiyie gave away prize to the winners.


It may be recalled that the tournament kick started on January 31 with Teisovise Metha, commandant 4th NAP Thizama as special guest.


NASA has announced the selected players for the forthcoming 47th meet of Angami Sports Association, scheduled for February 7 to 8 at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima.


The valedictory function was chaired by NASA treasurer Kevipusa Kezieo while vote of thanks was proposed by NASA athletics secretary Dziesesakuo Rutsa.


Thepfukhrietuo Rüpre-o and Rükravolie Rülho compered the proceeding of the grand finale.


Football event was officiated by Kohima District Football Referee Association and volleyball by Kohima District Volleyball Referee Association.
