NASA Group A is football champ of Association’s 62nd meet

The Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) Group A today emerged as the champions of the 62nd Meet 2021 of NASA here today at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

NASA Group A defeated NASA Group B 3-1 in the football men finals to lift the trophy.

In women's volleyball, NASA Group C defeated NASA Group D in finals to lift the champion title.

Roko Angami, president Nagaland Football Coaches Association and also president Northern Angami Youth Organization graced the closing ceremony and gave away prize to the football winning team.

Roko called upon the youth to pursue the sports with seriousness and with  professionalism.

Kekhrie Pfukha, president Angami Youth Organization also handed over prize to the volleyball wining team.

Earlier, Thejawelie (Gregory) Sote, Deputy Commissioner Kohima graced the inaugural function.

He said that sports meet would foster better understanding, unity and peace among the northern Angamis.

He also said that the meet is not just an event of playing games but a platform where talents could be hunted and thereby get exposed. 

NASA president Vinolie Medom delivered presidential address while NASA games secretary Keduorü Lhoungu administered oath to the participating teams.

Vote of thanks was proposed by NASA general secretary Ruokuohelie Mere.

Kohima Town Club (KTC) and Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA) officiated the football and volleyball matches respectively.

The four federating groups of NASA Group A, Group B, Group C & Group D (Consisting of 29 villages in total) took part during the day long sports meet.
