Total settlement amounts to Rs. 43,36,616
Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): Dimapur District Legal Services Authority conducted National Lok Adalat (people’s court) at the District Court Dimapur on November 11.
Cases were mostly dealt on banking matters, Public Utility matters and Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT), which yielded a significant number of disposal as well as active participation by the Banks and Public service providers and most importantly amenable appearance by the litigants.
The National Lok Adalat in Dimapur altogether took up and settled 33 cases. The total settlement amount was Rs. 43,36,616 (Forty three lakhs thirty thousand six hundred and sixteen).
“Today’s Lok Adalat in the State was a great success with sincere cooperation and participation from the officials and representatives of the Banks, Insurance companies and various concern stakeholders,” said Nungsang C Jamir, Nodal Officer for National Lok Adalat, Nagaland State Legal Services Authority in a press release.
The Lok Adalat proceedings were carried out led by the Presiding Judges aided by conciliators, Lawyers and also the Para legal Volunteers. The proceedings were also conducted in local dialects for convenience of the illiterate litigants.
