Safe and Healthy Working Environment - A Fundamental Right
Dimapur, March 6 (MExN): The 42nd National Safety Day was observed on March 4 at M/s Amar Roller Flour Mills, Golaghat Road, Dimapur Nagaland with the theme ‘Ensure Safe and Healthy Working Environment- A Fundamental Right’ organized by the Labour Department, Government of Nagaland.
A press release received here stated that the function was attended by about 300 people representing proprietors, sr. managers, managers, executives, supervisors and selected workers from various factories in and around Dimapur, Tizit, Tuli, Longnak and Nagaland Pulp & Paper Co. Ltd. Tuli, Doyang Hydro Electric Project (DHEP) Doyang.
N. Hushili Sema, IAS, DC Dimapur was the chief guest. She spoke on the importance of safety at work places and proper maintenance of health care and routine checkup of workers who are borne to various occupational diseases such as TB, silicosis and various lungs diseases besides various types of accidents.
Vikeheto Naki, Assistant Inspector of Factories & Boilers, chaired the function. Er L Nungshiyanger Aier, Joint Labour Commissioner (HoD) delivered welcome address. He also administered the Safety and Health Pledge. Huwuto Plant Manager LPG Bottling Plant Dimapur, Yimpang Ao Sr. Plant Manager Doyang Hydro Electric Project (DHEP) Doyang and Tikum Proprietor M/s Amar Roller Flour Mills, Dimapur, delivered short speeches on safety measures proper uses of personal protective equipments (PPE).
Safety Awards in cash alongwith citation certificates from the Labour Department in recognitions of workers for his/her exemplary devotions to duty during the year 2012-13 judging on discipline, obedience, attendance, punctuality, no accident and minimum man-days less etc. has been awarded to 50 (fifty) workers from various factories in the State by the chief guest.
