National Unity Day to be observed in Nagaland

Kohima, October 26 (MExN):  Along with the rest of the country, Nagaland will also observe Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on October 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

In this regard, the State DIPR informed that a programme is being organised in the Secretariat Conference Hall on October 30, a day prior as October 31 this year falls on a Sunday, at 3:00 pm for taking the Unity Day Pledge with the Chief Secretary as chairperson.

All officers and staff of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat have been requested to attend the function without fail.

DoSE informs

Meanwhile, the Directorate of School Education (DoSE) has informed all schools to organize a pledge taking ceremony to mark the occasion as a part of the joint celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. As October 31 falls on a Sunday, children may not be called to school, the DoSE notified.

“Pledge-taking can be done virtually, OR on Friday/ Saturday/ Monday i.e 29th/ 30th October or 1st November 2021,” it added. Further, a report on the observance of the event is to be submitted along with one or two photographs/videos at the ‘Activity Reports’ Tab provided at the Online School Monitoring Portal (https://school.dosenl.in/) before 1:00 pm of November 2.

Home Dept informs DCs

The State Home Department has requested all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to mark the occasion by organizing a pledge taking ceremony in their respective districts at the time of closing of the offices/institutes concerned on October 30.

In another notification, it has informed all Heads of Departments that pledge taking ceremony may be organized by in their respective Directorates on the day prior at the time of closing of the offices concerned, as October 31 this year falls on a Sunday.

A report of action taken may be submitted by all HoDs to Home Department positively, it notified.
