Capital Shutters, Kohima today announced an All Nagaland Badminton Doubles League 2024 for the first time under the aegis of Nagaland Badminton Association (NBA). The league will be held at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Kohima. The categories include men, women, senior mixed doubles, junior boys, junior girls, junior doubles, veterans 75+ and veterans 95+. The last date of registration is June 10, 2024.
The organisers also announced that the registration fee is Rs 5000.
Speaking about how the league will be played, one of the organisers and one of coaches Joseph Sumi informed that the matches will be played on Fridays and Saturdays which will start after the registration are over.
Before mid August when the inter district Badminton tournament will be organized, he said the league will be completed. One of the reasons why it is organized on weekends is to encourage rigorous activity and preparation for the players and to further prepare them for inter district tournament.
The organisers are however yet to announce the date when the league will begin meanwhile encouraging people to register for the closing dates.
The organisers said prize money will be given to the winners, however the amount was not disclosed.
In addition, SMASH, an all Nagaland Summer Badminton coaching camp under the theme, “Nurture them young,” is also being organised by Capital Shuttlers, Kohima under the aegis of Nagaland Badminton and Kohima District Badminton Association from June 20 to July 20 at Indoor Badminton Stadium Kohima.
The coaching camp will be conducted by Assistant Commandment, Nagaland Police, Joseph Sumi, NPS who is a 15 times Men’s State Singles Champion, 12 times Men’s North East Singles Champion, 20 times State Doubles Champion and BWF Level -1 certified coach.
The last date for submission of forms will be June 10. The camp will comprise of (beginners/intermediate/state players); under 10 years, under 15 years, juniors Boys/Girls, Men, Women and Veterans.
