
The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), on May 8, declared the results of the 2017 High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examinations which commenced from February 14 this year.
Overall, out of 22446 candidates, 15754 passed the HSLC Examination 2017 with the pass percentage being one highest in recent years with 70.19% qualifying the examination, an improvement by over 7% when compared to the last years pass percentage of 65.42%.
A total of 944 candidates secured 80% and above, up by 30 from 2016’s results, out of which 13 were from government schools.
HSSLC examination:
The pass percentage in HSSLC examination also increased from 75.15% in 2016 to 78.39% in 2017. The pass percentages in Arts, Commerce and Science were 82.97%, 79.60% and 91.03% respectively.
A total of 271 candidates secured 80% and above, in aggregate up by 57 from 2016. While 11 institutions under Arts stream, four institutions under Science stream and four institutions under Commerce stream secured 100% pass result; one private institution of commerce stream got ‘zero’ result.
