NBSE board exams postponed after reported theft

Kohima, November 27 (MExN): The Class VIII and Class IX Final Examinations 2017 of Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) have been postponed due to reported theft of the confidential question sheet packets at Government High School, Sovima, Dimapur.  

A notification from NBSE chairperson, Asano Sekhose informed that the Class IX Final Examination will now be held from November 30 to December 8, while the next examination for Class VIII will be conducted on December 6.  

The examination of other classes will not be affected by this change of schedule. For Class IX, NBSE will issue the new question papers for English, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Alternative English and Environmental Education subjects, it was informed. For the remaining subjects, schools will use the question papers already issued by the Board.  

The new question papers will be delivered in the district headquarters on November 29 by the Board officials, it stated, adding schools under Kohima district will collect them from the NBSE office.  

According to the notification, the Set I question papers will not be opened till the examination is over. The Heads of Institution will collect the confidential packets on the specified dates from the respective district designated schools.  

As an immediate penal action, the examination centre for Government High School, Sovima, Dimapur has been cancelled. The centre of Class IX Final Examination 2017 for the school will be Government High School, Diphupar ‘B’. Further course of action will be initiated as per rules, the NBSE chairperson notified.
