NBSE HSLC, HSSLC toppers attribute success to hard work

The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) declared the results of HSLC (class 10) examinations and HSSLC (class 12) examinations on May 30.


Abhi Chakraborty of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, has topped HSLC results with 98.33 per cent. In the HSSLC results, Chumliba R of Loyola Hr Sec School, Kiphire has topped In the arts stream with score of 92.00%. While in commerce, Ichha Upadhyay of Christian Hr Sec School, Dimapur has topped with 98.80%. In science, Anushka Bhattacharjee of Pranab Vidyapith Hr Sec School, Dimapur has topped. She scored 95.20%.

 

‘Listen properly in class’
HSLC topper Abhi Chakraborty, preparations for the exams started around May last year. Securing 98.33%, the topper from Holy Cross Higher Secondary School Dimapur said that he did not have a fixed study routine. “Sometimes I studied for 2 hours, sometimes 3,” he said.


Going for tuitions left him with less time for self study, Abhi shared, while adding that he received immense support and motivation from his family during his preparations.


He attributed his success to God, his parents, teachers and friends and everyone who supported him.


“Revise properly and listen properly in class,” Abhi said in his message for his juniors.


On being asked about his future plans, the topper said that he is preparing for medical entrance exams.

 

‘I just studied’ 
Ichha Upadhyay from Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur topped the Commerce stream with 98.80%. Speaking to The Morung Express, Ichha said that she started serious preparations 3 months before the exam. “I did not make any routine. I just studied,” she revealed. 


The topper also said that she considered her tuition time as study sessions. 


Attributing her success to her parents and teachers, Ichha said that they motivated her and helped her whenever needed. 


On being asked about her future plans, Ichha said that she plans to focus on pursuing BCom for now.


She also shared her optimism that the COVID-19 pandemic will end soon, and encouraged those preparing for matric exams to keep working hard.

 

‘Balance studies and leisure’
Science topper Anushka Bhattacharjee from Pranab Vidyapith Hr Sec School, Dimapur, said that after selection exams, she did “regular studies.” Sharing the secret behind achieving 95.20%, Anushka said that she devoted at least 3-4 hours a day to her studies, besides the daily 2 hours of tuition.


Anushka balanced her studies and leisure by making time for some entertainment like watching cartoons on TV. She also practiced calligraphy and engaged in her hobbies of drawing and dancing.


The topper dedicated her success to her family and teachers. “My parents, grandmother and brother were kind and respectful,” she added. 
Talking about her inspiration, Anushka said,” I had the pleasure of meeting Prof Sharma of IIT KANPUR. He inspired me with knowledge and simplicity.”


Anushka said that she aims to be a teacher and will work hard to achieve that dream. “God blesses me I will like to be taught at IISc Bangalore,” she added.


While encouraging her juniors to believe in themselves, Anushka also shared a hopeful message about life after the pandemic.  “There's a sunny day after every storm,” she said.
