NBSE informs on Saksham National Competition 2020-21

Kohima, January 11 (MExN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has notified the heads of registered institutions that the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, is organising Saksham National Competition 2020-21 for school children in online mode from January 4-to February 10

The competition is held with the aim to raise awareness on the importance of fuel conservation and environmental protection. According to a DIPR report, it aims to raise awareness among youth about practical conservation tips for the conservation of Petroleum products in industrial, transport, agriculture, domestic sector, reduction of oil imports, energy conservation, importance and use of renewable energy sources, and how to practice such conservation tips in our daily lives, and save the environment. 

For effective communication, students may choose to present their ideas and messages for conserving petroleum products and reducing emissions, in English, Hindi or Regional languages.

The three competitions are: Essay, Painting, Quiz for selecting school team and thereafter State and National level and Eligibility – Students of Classes 7, 8, 9 and 10.

The incentive awards for the competition have been made very attractive in the form of Cash Prizes. 

The competition will be launched through a web portal and a mobile app for the students to participate online. Schools are required to evaluate the entries made by their students and upload the best two entries to the PCRA’s webportal. 

The detailed instructions for conducting the competitions by the schools and online submission for each competition are available on the PCRA’s webportal www.pcracompetitions.org or website www.pcra.org/competitions.html or mobile app pcra-competitions. 

All heads of registered institutions have been requested to disseminate the information and encourage interested children to participate in the competition, the DIPR report stated.
