NCA announces open trials for 2026–27 season

Dimapur, June 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) has announced open trials for the 2026–27 cricket season for various age-group and senior categories. The trials will be conducted at GNR Ground, Dimapur, beginning June 10.

According to a press release from the NCA, the Senior Men’s trials will be held on June 10, followed by Men Under-19 trials on June 11 and 12, Boys Under-16 on June 13, and Men Under-23 on June 15 and 16. Trials for Women Under-15 and Under-19 will take place on June 17, while Women Under-23 and Senior Women trials are scheduled for June 18.

The association stated that eligibility for the Under-15 girls category is limited to players born between September 1, 2011 and August 31, 2014. Boys competing in the Under-16 category must be born between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2012. Players in the Under-19 boys and girls categories must be born on or after September 1, 2007, while those in the Under-23 men’s and women’s categories must be born on or after September 1, 2003.

All interested players have been asked to register through their respective District Cricket Associations. Participants must produce a recommendation letter from their District Cricket Association along with original birth certificates and Aadhaar cards for verification at the time of reporting.

For Girls Under-15, Boys Under-16 and Boys and Girls Under-19 categories, players must also submit three years of school mark sheets or a school leaving certificate.

The reporting time for all categories is 8:30 am, and a fitness test will form part of the selection process.

The NCA informed that all participants must attend the trials at their own expense and wear white playing attire. It also stated that document verification must be completed and certified by the respective District Cricket Associations before the trials.

The association encouraged aspiring cricketers from across Nagaland to participate in the trials.
