DIMAPUR, MAY 27 (MExN): Kiran Prabhu Navgire, who represented Nagaland Cricket Association Women's team this season as a professional player, has been making waves at the ongoing T20 Women's Challenge equivalent to the men's IPL.

She made her debut and hit a first ball six, which “requires nerves of steel,” said the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) in a press release today.

“But continuing in the same vein to hit the fastest fifty in 25 balls and ensuring her team's qualification for the final is nothing short of commendable. It was sheer class and power on display and caught the attention of those who matter as both top national and international players are part of it,” the NCA said.

Her innings against Arunachal Pradesh is the highest individual score in the T20 format in domestic cricket. This innings of 162 not out, laced with 16 sixes and 10 fours caught the attention of the franchisees and got her a place to play in the tournament.

The Nagaland Cricket Association wished her the very best in her endeavors and expressed pride at her achievements “as she is a part of our family.”
