NCC combined annual training camp concludes 

Mokokchung, January 12 (MExN): The combined annual training camp by 25 Naga Battalion NCC, Mokokchung culminated on January 12. A total of 105 cadets participated in a week long intense training and learning curriculum. On January 11, a blood donation and awareness camp was organized at the camp site in coordination with the Blood Centre, District Hospital, Mokokchung headed by Dr H Tsipongchem Sangtam, stated a press release from PRO (Defence), Kohima.

A large number of cadets, both girls and boys, volunteered to donate blood and become ‘Blood Hero’s’. A medical team from the District Hospital the carried out blood group testing of the cadets and handed out their blood group cards before the blood donation. A total of 21 units of blood was drawn from the donors. Cadets were also screened for body vitals and communicable diseases.

Speaking on the occasion, the Camp Commandant, Col CST Swamy informed that 25 Naga Battalion NCC is in consultation with Blood Centre, Mokokchung and Mokokchung Voluntary Blood Donors Association to establish an ‘NCC Blood Donors Platoon’ which will be a repository and facilitator of voluntary blood donation by NCC Cadets in all the 11 Districts in the Area of Responsibility.

SUO Sentiyangla Imsong and Sgt Chubamayang, both of FAC were awarded the ‘Overall Best Cadet’ trophies in the boys and girls category. The camp culminated in a cultural programme wherein cadets performed dances, songs etc. Lenen Jamir also made a surprise appearance in the event.
