Kohima, November 9 (MExN): The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-38), organised by 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC, Kohima under the aegis of Gp HQ NCC Kohima of North East Region, kicked off at Kohima College on November 8. The camp will conclude on November 14.
The aim of CATC-38 is to impart collective training to NCC Cadets with special emphasis on the development of qualities of leadership, informed a press release from the Commanding Officer of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC, Kohima and Camp Commandant Col Daniel Lotzem.
The main emphasis will be to develop qualities of character, comradeship, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship, ideals of selfless service thus having a bearing on all round development of cadets’ personality, it said.
In his opening address Col Lotzem encouraged the participating cadets to take keen interest and make the best use of the camp as well as observing appropriate COVID-19 protocol in letter and spirit during the camp, it added.
The camp is being attended by 1 Officer, 2 JCOs, 05 NCOs, 4 NCC Officers and 230 cadets from both Senior Division of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy and Senior Wing of 1 Nagaland Girls Bn of Kohima NCC Group.
The cadets, during the camp, will also be trained in Weapon handling, Drill, Map Reading, Military subjects, and firing, besides subjects on National Integration and Nation building, the release said.
The cadets will also carry out various social service activities during their stay, it added.
