NCC girls attend seminar on ‘Essence of Swachhta’

Kohima, May 17 (MExN): Marking the last day of two-week long cleanliness programme ‘Swachhta Samaroh’, the NCC girls from St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama of 1 NL Girls’ BN NCC organised a seminar at Little Flower HSS, Kohima on May 15.  

Under the guidance of Lt. Regina Razousinuo, the seminar on the theme ‘Essence of Swachhta’ witnessed participation from NCC girls from Modern College, Sazolie College, Kohima College, Don Bosco HSS (Kohima), LFHSS and St. Mary’s Cathedral HSS.  

CPL Viravonü Toso of St. Joseph’s College chaired the seminar and CPL Beteü Letro of Little Flower HSS gave the welcome note. Delivering the keynote address, JUO Diethovino Khatso of St. Joseph’s College highlighted the meaning, aim, purpose and need of Swachhta Samaroh.  

The speakers were SGT Chhaya Bisukarma of Modern College who spoke on how society can maintain cleanliness, LCPL Manli Nancy Nekong and CPL Peletuonuo Riipre-o of St. Joseph’s College briefed on conversion of waste to wealth and disposal of e-waste respectively, JUO Vingunuo Mepfhuo of Sazolie College stressed on the importance and urgent need of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, SGT Telewe Therieh of Little Flower HSS talked on Mahatma Gandhi as the face of Swachh Bharat, LCPL Vidisenuo and SGT Meguozenuo Martha of Don Bosco HSS (Kohima) shared their opinion and experiences in undertaking activities of Swachhta Samaroh respectively, and SGT Kerhieno Joyce Chaya of St. Mary’s Cathedral HSS briefed on the topic-“Care Today, Enjoy Tomorrow”.  

CPL Inavili of Kohima College gave the concluding remarks and Lt. Regina Razousinuo, Associate NCC Officer of St. Joseph’s College exhorted the cadets to be messengers of clean environment in all aspects and take initiatives in all that is good for society and state. LCPL Sasünü of St. Joseph’s College expressed the vote of thanks and the seminar was concluded with NCC song. Altogether, 62 cadets and four Associate NCC Officers attended the seminar.
