NCD appeals to re-fix  market price of all items

Dimapur, May 26 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has made an appeal to re-fix the market price of all items and publish it for public interest.

NCD, President, Etsungmomo Kikon in a press release observed that with every increase of fuel price, be it petrol or diesel, there is always a remarkable increase of market prices of all essential items further which is effecting the common people.

It said that in the recent past fuel price of both petrol and diesel has been already slashed down but the market price of all items remained unchanged. In addition to this slashing down of the prices, government has already removed and closed down all check gates thereby, collection of tax does not arise any more if all the citizens give concerted efforts, NCD stated.

Therefore, it appealed that the competent authority should re-fix the market price of all items and publish it for public interest and subsequently keep a check on the fixed prices on a regular basis.

Meanwhile, NCD also appreciated the State Government’s decision to combat the alleged illegal collection of money from the public through various check gates set-up by the government departments, NGOs, civil societies and associations in the state.

It expressed confidence that “the order will be implemented successfully and will bring a big relief to the common people in the state.”

It also said that the successful implementation of the order not only lies with the government alone but with every civil societies/organizations/association or individuals lending their hands to the government. “Now it is the responsibility of all the colony councils and individuals to control, monitor/vigil and bring to the notice of the competent authority of any concern without any hesitation,” NCD asserted while extending their cooperation and service for implementing the order strictly.
