The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Sunday released a 15-point election manifesto for the ensuing polls in Manipur. At the releasing function held in NCP state unit office in Imphal’s Wangkhei on Sunday, the party also announced names of two more candidates for the party.

The manifesto was released by the party's national general secretary Narendra Verma who is currently camping in the state along with party state unit president Soram Iboyaima Singh.

On the occasion, Verma ruled out an absolute majority to form the next government in the state after the election by any party. He said, “Manipur is heading towards another hung Assembly. In 2017 also there was a hung Assembly,” he said. The NCP leader was confident that a “secular government” would be formed in the state and NCP will be a part of the government. “If NCP is part of the government to be formed by like-minded parties, we will convert these 15-point pledges into work,” he said.

Manipur unit NCP president S Iboyaima said that NCP was committed to the repeal of the Armed Forces (Special) Powers Act 1958 from the state.
