NCS probationers on all India study tour

Kohima: In a first initiation of its kind, 16 Nagaland Civil Service probationers of the 2004 batch and a course co-ordinator have embarked on an 80 day All India Study Tour which includes a 7 day Army attachment schedule in Sikkim. FP Solo, Additional Director, Government of Nagaland informed that the team left for New Jalpaiguri on a Kamrup Express train today and are expected to return to the capital on January 19 next year. They will be visiting New Delhi, Mussoorie, Agra, Bharatpur, Hyderabad, Goa, Cochin, Thiruvananthapuram, Kanya Kumari, Chennai and Kolkata before their homecoming. 

The group will be attached to 17 Mountain Division with Headquarters at Gangtok from November two to November 8. During the army attachment, the probationers will be introduced to the structure and functioning of the Army, the strategic importance of the sector they are attached to, have close interactions with JCOs and jawans to know their problems and acclimatize themselves with Army and various branches of the Army. The army attachment includes visits to forward posts in the border areas and Nathula Pass.

The month long study trip to Delhi includes visits to the Parliamentary Secretariat, IDSA, three day training course at the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management, one day visit to National Institute of Disaster Management, five day study with an NGO and visits to Ministry of Tourism, Sports Authority of India, National Informatics Centre, Ministries of Social Justice and Empowerment, Rural development, Agriculture, DONER, Surface Transport and Planning Commission. 

Besides visiting important departments of other states, the team will be visiting institutions like Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, Dr MCRHRD Hyderabad, Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Academy, Institute of Management in Government at Thiruvananthapuram, Anna Institute of Management, Chennai and ATI Kolkata. The group will also be calling on the Governor of Goa and will be spending Christmas at Goa. The study tour will conclude with a six day personal development training course based on Steven Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by renowned motivator Ajay Agarwal.
